Rugby league game Rabbithos vs. Sea Eagles

There are 3 very similar sports in Australia. Firstly it is the most popular (especially in Mebourne area) Australian football (also Aussie rules), then rugby called rugby league and finally rugby played internationally, which is called rugby union. We decided to watch rugby league game, the most popular in Sydney area.

South Sydney Rabbithos played against Manly Sea Eagles. Both are Sydney teams. It was a very important match for South Sydney, as they fought for play-off qualification. The game was played in Telstra Stadium, central place of The Olympic games in Sydney 2000.

The Olympic park and also the stadium is greatly illuminated.

The Stadium is huge (during the Olympics it was even temprorarily extended). Match attendance 12000 people was a bit lost in such a big place.

Home team South Sydney was probably founded by Scotisch immigrant.

Photos before the game.
And one more.
Rugby is based on discipline. Players must keep the defence line all the time.

A Penalty kick follows after every try.
South Sydney mascot ...... a rabbit ..... what a stupid choice of animal
When somebody is tackled, others don't care and run back to build a defence line.

It is a very dynamic game.
Two against one - it's unfair :-)
It's an amazing game!!!
After every tackle, the team, which possessed the ball, starts again.
